Asociacion Armonia (BirdLife in Bolivia) has been working for the last two years on the development of a lodge to see the very rare Wattled Curassow in the tropical forests of Beni. We have been told that the lodge will be ready this coming May. This is an extremely rare bird, probably less than 80 birdwatchers have seen the bird. To give you an idea, the first sound recording of its song was made only in 2000. Unfortunately access to this bird will not be easy, requiring a days long hike. We will keep you posted.
