Blue-throated Macaw Tour

Blue-throated Macaw anyone? Now that seeing the Red-fronted Macaw is a must, with the fantastic Red-fronted Macaw ecolodge at the breeding cliff- the missing link is the Critically Endangered, and also Endemic, Blue-throated Macaw. We are following close the Bolivia Bird conservation group Armonia (a partner to American Bird Conservancy, BirdLife International and World Land Trust-US) development in this regard. They have created a private reserve (9,000 ha) which hold the largest stronghold for the species. They plan to create a conservation supporting ecolodge at this phenomenal site.

Wattled Curassow Tour

Asociacion Armonia has been working for the last two years on the development of a lodge to see the very rare Wattled Curassow in the tropical forests of Beni. We have been told that the lodge will be ready this coming May. This is an extremely rare bird, probably less than 80 birdwatchers have seen the bird. To give you an idea, the first sound recording of its song was made only in 2000. Unfortunately access to this bird will not be easy, requiring a days long hike. We will keep you posted.
